The Optoma UHD42 is a 3D-DLP projector offering 3400 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 500000:1 and a resolution of UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 4000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Projector Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 3400 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 592 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 395 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 26 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. Since entering the market in 2020, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
