After a long search and weighing up whether we, as simple users, need a home cinema projector or whether a cheaper one would do, we came to the conclusion that a less spectacular projector would do in our case.
The SANYO Z4, the BENQ 620P and the OPTOMA 719R were shortlisted for the following reasons (after test viewing the three mentioned):
Picture quality 2nd place (SANYO 1st)
Processing 1st place (on a par with the SANYO).Price 1st place (BENQ 2nd)
Of course the SANYO would also have been our 1st choice, but a 250,- EURO price difference spoke in favor of the OPTOMA, which we got for 750,- as a new device (the SANYO would have cost 1000,-)!The main arguments against the BENQ were the overly sensitive surface and - in our opinion - the worst finish of the three
Our cinema room is a 25m² living room with a 5m wide west-facing window
Great picture for movie nights! During the day, the contrast loss in dark movies is bearable. The connection via D-Sub and Cinch video cable works perfectly. The video recorder does not work and the DVD player only shows black and white. The problem is currently being dealt with by OPTOMA customer service
