As a projector for the Homecinema sector, the Optoma HD87 is equipped with 1700 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 80000:1. According to Optoma, the included lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for purely optical image shifting. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Distance Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 1700 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 419 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 279 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 29 decibels. The projector was released in 2010 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma.
