Equipped with DLP technology, the Optoma UHD51 offers 2400 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 500000:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for optical image shifting. To plan the individual installation location, a look at the Projection Calculator is recommended. Regarding projection size, the value of 2400 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 498 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 332 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 25 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. This model dates back to 2018 and is no longer part of Optoma's current product range. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.

The device is simply unbeatable. Beautiful depth of field and a black level with and without HDR. The 1080p picture is crystal clear. The shifting method to 4K also works brilliantly, clearly noticeable with the intermediate image calculation. The color space is larger than normal and makes it very colorful. Many setting options and easy operation round off this picture miracle. It works very quietly, doesn‘t weigh much and has a clean finish. At a distance of 3m from the screen, the smallest image is 84, it has a very large zoom range, but unfortunately it is not very flexible when it comes to positioning, as it only has a very small vertical lens shift. If you are used to Epson, you should pay attention to this with the UHD51. The lamp is still bright even after 6000 hours. It also does 3D satisfactorily when tested with Hi-Shock glasses, no ghosting. Material played from the 4k UHD player is fabulous and without visible artifacts in clouds, bright or black scenes. Even when I put a BD into the player, which is then upscaled to 4K and the projector shifts, the picture is sharp, colorful, rich in detail and enhances the discs even more. Netflix via the player with 4K HDR is also no problem and really pleasing to the eye. Even a PC with 12bit 4:4:4 1080p 120Hz is super sharp in use. The games are a dream on 4K HDR. Whatever else you want to connect, the Optoma processes without problems with the set resolution and heart rate. (X-Box one 4K player produces an absolutely poor picture! That‘s why the Panasonic UHD player in the test) You should definitely get a thin dust filter when you buy it, because it‘s not included. Even the rainbow effect is not noticeable. On a beautiful contrast screen, this little wonder conjures up a picture where hardly any other device can keep up. After 20 years of experience with many devices, I am absolutely satisfied with the Optoma UHD51 and can really recommend it with a clear conscience.
