The ZU500UST is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose specifications list 5000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 100000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours, covering an estimated 13.7 years based on a 4-hour daily runtime. With its built-in wide-angle optics, the device belongs to the category of short-throw projectors. An image width of 2 meters is realized from a short distance of 50 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 718 cm can be illuminated with 5000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 479 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (10W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. Since entering the market in 2019, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
