The ZX212ST model from Optoma combines DLP technology in the Short Distance sector with 2300 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a native XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer specifies a durability of 20000 hours for the LED light source, covering an estimated 13.7 years based on a 4-hour daily runtime. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 125 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 418 cm can be illuminated with 2300 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 279 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2012 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma.
