Behind the name EX550ST is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose main features include 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 5000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 6.8 years when used for 2 hours a day. With its built-in wide-angle optics, the device belongs to the category of short-throw projectors. An image width of 2 meters is realized from a short distance of 122 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 477 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 318 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 28 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. This model dates back to 2012 and is no longer part of Optoma's current product range.
