The projector Photon Life PH31 by Optoma operates as a 3D-Laser-DLP device with 1875 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 2500000:1. An LED lifespan of 30000 hours is noted in the data sheet for this model – calculating to 20.5 years at four hours of use per day. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Because the manufacturer specifies brightness in ISO lumen values, we have determined an ANSI lumen value for better comparability. Regarding projection size, the value of 1875 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 440 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 293 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios.
