The Christie Roadie X8 is a DLP projector offering 8000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 400:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 1000 hours before a replacement is necessary. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Distance Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 779 cm can be illuminated with 8000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 519 cm. This device is no longer manufactured and has been removed from Christie's current lineup. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
