The projector DW6k alt by Christie utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 6000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 at a resolution of HDTV 1280 x 720. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 1000 hours. The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector without digital interference. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projection Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 6000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 787 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 525 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
