Behind the name Roadster HD12K is a DLP projector by Christie, whose main features include 12000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 1000 hours before a replacement is necessary. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for purely optical image shifting. For maximum setup flexibility, the model supports optional interchangeable lenses, meaning the optics can be precisely matched to individual on-site requirements. Suitable distances can be determined using the Lens Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 12000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 1113 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 742 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
