The Barco UDX-U40 is a 3D-LED-DLP projector that brings 38000 ANSI lumens, a UXGA 1600 x 1200 resolution alongside a contrast of 2000:1. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 13.7 years. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Looking at practical performance, up to 1698 cm can be illuminated with 38000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 1132 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. Regarding professional networking, the device offers a classic RJ45 LAN port for control alongside HDBaseT for the lossless transmission of picture and sound over long distances.
