Based on DLP technology, the Barco Nerthus projects images in a E-Cinema environment, with technical specs listing 32000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 5000:1 and a UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lifespan for this model at 40000 hours – calculating to 27.4 years at four hours of use per day. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. A look at the light output reveals: The 32000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 926 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 617 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance.
