Designed for the Stationary sector, the SLM G5 Performer model from Barco features 5000 ANSI lumens, a native XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast ratio of 500:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 1000 hours. The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector without digital interference. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 616 cm can be illuminated with 5000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 411 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Since entering the market in 2003, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
