With the Orion Cinemascope, Barco offers a DLP projector that features 1500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2300:1 and a resolution of WQXGA 2560 x 1080. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. With its built-in wide-angle optics, the device belongs to the category of short-throw projectors. An image width of 2 meters is realized from a short distance of 56 cm. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Lens Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 1500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 337 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 225 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs. The projector was released in 2019 and is officially no longer distributed by Barco.
