As a projector, the Barco SP4K-55 combines DLP technology with a resolution of UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160, and is additionally specified with 52000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2000:1. With its built-in laser light source, the projector achieves a manufacturer-stated lifespan of 40000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 27.4 years. For maximum setup flexibility, the model supports optional interchangeable lenses, meaning the optics can be precisely matched to individual on-site requirements. Suitable distances can be determined using the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 793 cm can be illuminated with 52000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 529 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2021 and is officially no longer distributed by Barco. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
