Model Overview The Barco UDX-4K40 is a 3D-Laser-DLP projector offering 36500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of WQXGA 2560 x 1600. The manufacturer lists the lifespan for this model at 20000 hours. Daily use of 4 hours makes an operational lifespan of over 13.7 years possible.
For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for purely optical image shifting. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projection Calculator.
Looking at practical performance, up to 1664 cm can be illuminated with 36500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 1109 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K as well as 3D are supported, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs.
