As a projector, the Nec VT440 combines LCD technology with a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600, and is additionally specified with 1100 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 400:1. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 1100 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 289 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 193 cm. The projector was released in 2001 and is officially no longer distributed by Nec.

Certainly an excellent device for its time. Today there are better ones with far less noise and much cheaper lamps.

Since 2000 in operation
Hi, I‘ve been using this thing since 2000 and have now reached the end of the lamp‘s life. The operating hours counter still shows approx. 4%, the picture has become incredibly dark. Otherwise: TOP!

Conclusion:
Gave myself the Nec as an "own" Christmas present, with 350 Bh on the clock a bargain I always wanted to have a projector and think the picture is just brilliant and bright enough. My son also really enjoys watching Spongebob "larger than life"... The only catch is who is stupid enough to put the power socket on the front of such a device ???
Other than that, it‘s great and I wouldn‘t get it !

Very sharp picture
Have been using the projector since 2003 with almost 1000 hours on the lamp.
Still bright, sharp and colorful pictures in the home cinema. DVD playback is via VGA - resulting in a very good picture (2.00 picture width). Simple operation, many connection options. Would buy the device again at any time.
