The UM301X is a Laser-LCD projector by Nec, whose specifications list 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4000:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 5.5 years when used for 2 hours a day. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 72 cm. A look at the light output reveals: The 3000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 477 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 318 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Nec. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
