With the M260XS, Nec offers a LCD projector that features 2600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. According to Nec, the included lamp lasts up to 5000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 6.8 years when used for 2 hours a day. With its short projection distance, the short-throw model excels in smaller rooms, requiring only 94 cm of wall distance for an image width of 2 meters. Regarding projection size, the value of 2600 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 444 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 296 cm. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Since entering the market in 2010, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
