The Benq W700 is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector offering 2200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and a resolution of HDTV 1280 x 720. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 4500 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 6.2 years. Regarding projection size, the value of 2200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 477 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 318 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Since entering the market in 2011, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

I‘ve had it for 12 years now, still with the same lamp, which now has almost 4,000 hours on it. I should certainly change it because there is also a lot of dust on the lens. The volume is acceptable. The picture is still perfect despite the dust spots. I paid around €500 at the time.

acceptable
Hello community, I have been using different projectors for years because I make and show movies. This projector here has so far been the best value for money in the price/performance segment. After a few Epson and HP devices, I came across BenQ and know that I will stick with it. At the moment I have the W700UHP190W. Great device. I have my own small movie theater room with black-outs, so it doesn‘t matter when I want to watch. Thanks to active glasses and a good BlueRay player, the 3D display is simply awesome. The sound is transmitted to my home theater system via the HDMI output and I can fill my cinema with a total of 810 watts of sound. Movies with good music are particularly enjoyable, as are music programs on TV. So: A clear recommendation from me for the home theater, but with compromises in the sound. You have to connect your own system. Incidentally, I didn‘t expect to find usable speakers in the projector. Bose helps with that.

long wait, no regrets
I bought this projector after a long search and research and have not regretted it. We use it for watching movies and playing computer games. No problem even in daylight if the curtains (thick, white ones) are closed and block the direct sun.

except for dust problems TOP
The projector is a great thing in itself.
Picture, sharpness, colors, black level are at TOP level.
I have only had problems with the encapsulation against dust.
I have already had 3 different W700+ and after about 4 weeks dust particles have crept into the light path, so that you had white spots in the picture in dark scenes. Before that I had a DELL projector in continuous use for 3 years and no dust problems, but apparently I wasn‘t alone with the problem, the others just put up with it, I personally can‘t, the black level suffers in places and my cinema feeling is gone! I also had spots in the picture, so I returned it with a heavy heart.

Super
Have had the projector since today (12.5.2012). Operation with TV card. Inexpensive, low operating costs, high contrast, low volume (especially in eco mode), lamps up to 6000h, new lamp for just over 100 EUR, no fan run-on time after switching off, favorable projection angle (over 200cm at 370 cm distance)
Super device!

Super price/performance ratio
I can recommend it as an entry-level projector for home cinema
Positives:
- very good picture
- acceptable fan noise in Eco mode
- compact design
Negatives:
- the speakers are not usable
- I noticed the rainbow effect (RBE)
I would definitely have kept it without the RBE. But now I have to look around for an LCD.

Everything is right..to the actual predecessor W 600+...Absolutely sharp picture..but I can NOT agree with my predecessor here!!! The operating noise is more than acceptable!!! You probably can‘t breathe next to it either!!! ;-) Benq...you did a good job!!!!

W700
I‘ve had it for about 1 month now with about 40 hours of use.
Short conclusion:
Picture quality top (sharpness, contrast, colors convinced me).
Biggest weak point is the noise, which is clearly audible in quiet movie scenes. My old Acer 1165 was much quieter (both in Eco mode; normal mode is unbearably loud).
If you can live with this single flaw, you get an otherwise very good projector at an excellent price-performance ratio.
