As a projector, the Benq PE7800 combines DLP technology with a resolution of WPAL 1024 x 576, and is additionally specified with 800 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2000 hours before a replacement is necessary. Looking at practical performance, up to 287 cm can be illuminated with 800 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 191 cm. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Benq.

Rare as a used device, but a real insider tip! Rich black, crisp image with SD content, far better than the Optoma H79, for example!
Slightly noisy, but apart from that, the BenQ is still a real winner, even compared to the Mitsuishi HC6000 it produces a more vivid picture, if you haven‘t seen it with your own eyes, you wouldn‘t believe it.
While Epson is ruled out by greenish black, the PLV-Z series from Sanyo suffers from false colors and color clouds, the BenQ, despite its "age" (produced until 2005), is absolutely predestined for PAL due to its Matterhorn chipset for flawless, pixel-perfect PAL repdropuction.
Blueray in Full HD doesn‘t work as well as with higher resolution devices, but the vast majority of content is still SD (DVD, DIVX etc.), and the BenQ is far, far ahead!
As soon as you set the filter to "1", the device unfolds its full power, especially with DIVX with low resolution, the improvement is enormous, the sharpness is still set to 90%, no other projector I know succeeds better.
Conclusion: If Full HD content is not shown throughout, then this piece of cream is the very first choice!
