The basic data of the Benq PB6200 includes 1700 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 as well as a contrast of 2000:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 1700 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 359 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 239 cm. This device is no longer manufactured and has been removed from Benq's current lineup.

I operate the BenQ 6200 on a 2.2m screen.
The image is excellent for a device in the price range in which it is currently being sold (you cant get it new, or hardly anymore). Contrary to the first review, the projector runs with native XGA 1024x768 or compressed at SXVGA with 1280x1024 pixels. It handles this easily without judder or the like. I operate the projector via laptop (VGA/VGA) or HDMI source (component/sub-D) and am thrilled with the image quality. You can forget about S-Video via Cinch or S-Video plug, it looks like a liquid is running over the screen or the lens, dark and - not even blurred but smeared.
I think a darkened 3m screen would certainly still be very good, but for anything above that you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket if you want a decent picture. So its a top picture on my 4.x square meters, which is the natural end for a normal living room anyway. The setting options on the device are sufficient, the presets for video, data, cinema, etc. are great. And: the little one is really quiet as a whisper.

Divided opinion...
I bought the projector almost 18 months ago and am actually satisfied. I was looking for a very affordable, yet bright and high-contrast projector, and the BENQ delivers on both counts. The whole thing looks good with a decent screen, but more than about 2m screen diagonal is unfortunately not recommended due to the resolution of 800x600 (depending on the distance from the picture, even a little more). two things bother me the most: When operating via the VGA input, there is no way to adjust the color of the image (for the R, G and B channel). In addition, the display of an image via the RCA input is incredibly blurred. With SVHS and RCA input, I generally have the problem that the picture is much darker than on TV (even when the room is completely darkened). This is very annoying with some video games, as the contrast and brightness settings do not produce satisfactory results.
In addition, it should be said that the projector only cost €800 new 18 months ago, so the performance is actually quite decent. Due to a move, however, I now have a screen area of 280x210cm, which no longer looks quite as good. Despite the low price, I would rather advise against the device if the main video sources do not have a VGA output.
