As a projector for the Homecinema sector, the Mitsubishi HC5 is equipped with 1100 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 140000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 4000 hours before a replacement is necessary. A daily usage of 2 hours makes an operational lifespan of 5.5 years possible. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment; exact values can be calculated using the Lens Shift Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Since entering the market in 2012, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
I‘ve had the projector for almost a year and I‘m still delighted with it. It‘s not small but it‘s very flexible when it comes to positioning. The only drawback is that it needs a distance of over 5m for my 3m wide screen. Otherwise it impresses with its very good black level and picture contrast. 3D is also impressive, but it could be a bit brighter. Otherwise I run it in Eco mode, as it is quiet and bright enough. I also use the intermediate image calculation discreetly (also possible in 3D) and it produces convincing results. Satisfied all round
