The equipment of the Mitsubishi HC3800 projector includes 1300 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 4000:1 with a HDTV 1920 x 1080 display. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 1300 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 366 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 244 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. The projector was released in 2009 and is officially no longer distributed by Mitsubishi. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.

After 2500h in ECO mode: This projector simply has a brilliant picture! Sometimes the color wheel is a bit annoying acoustically - but when a movie with appropriate sound is running and you are spoiled by an excellent 1080p picture, it‘s immediately forgotten again...

Re: Really only 17db?
It doesn‘t have 17db but 25db in low mode. If that had been different, I would have bought it immediately.

Report IFA 2009 / DLP in top form !!!
Have seen the Mitsubishi HC 3800 at the IFA. Absolutely impressive picture, super colors, very fine and detailed color gradations (many more shades of one color), very good contrast, the black in a mixed picture scene is absolutely black and the white is still very bright, almost dazzling. In dark scenes it is absolutely top, as the gray levels are very finely graduated without the content being "swallowed up". In addition, very good sharpness, even from a distance of 1 meter with an approx. 2.80 m wide picture, no pixels can be seen and the picture still looks sharp. Overall, this projector produces a very good picture, which is really fascinating and fun to watch. However, there is one drawback: it is not for those who are sensitive to the "rainbow effect". This is probably due to the fact that the color wheel only runs at 4x speed. However, it has to be said that the device was a pre-production model, so I hope that the final series device can be switched from 4x to 6x in the menu so that even sensitive eyes can enjoy this picture. The price should be around 1.300 € !!!

Really only 17db?
I can‘t imagine that a DLP can really only have 17db. I‘m curious.
