Behind the name XD450U is a DLP projector by Mitsubishi, whose main features include 2600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2200:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2500 hours. To ensure a rectangular image even with asymmetrical placement, the projector includes digital keystone correction for both the horizontal and vertical axes. A look at the light output reveals: The 2600 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 444 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 296 cm. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 30 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Mitsubishi.
