The P1266 model from Acer combines DLP technology in the Standard-Portabel sector with 2500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a native XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. According to Acer, the included lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 435 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 290 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Acer ok, service good!
P1266P:
After 3.8 years and approx. 750 operating hours, I had increasingly white pixels (several hundred in the end).
I contacted Acer support online and sent the device to Acer service with reference to the 5-year warranty on the DMD chip according to the device documents. The repair was carried out quickly. I have nothing negative to say about the service. Even if the quality (longevity) of the DMD chip seems to leave something to be desired (the 5-year warranty comes from the DMD manufacturer Texas Instruments, as far as I could research on the Internet). Let‘s see how long the new one lasts? Without this guarantee, the projector purchase would have been a real loss.

Bad service
have 2 acer projectors, P1266 and P1200, DLP chip defective on the 1200 after 2 years - warranty repair, now completely wrong colors, DLP chip defective on the 1266 after 4 years, repair is supposed to cost 350€ although the DLPs is actually guaranteed for 5 years. Repair only via a subcontractor, acer does not want to have anything to do with its customers, everything is only impersonal and via the Internet, every telephone number is always the wrong one - even the service number acer ? NEVER again !

Absolutely top in its class
After 2.5 years of intensive use, I‘m still as impressed as I was on the first day. I won‘t be upgrading to an HD projector, but will be ordering another replacement lamp for the next 2.5 years. It simply has no weak points (nobody will want to use the internal speaker seriously).
