This projector is named X1160Z, originates from Acer, and its data sheet shows 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600. According to Acer, the lamp has a durability of 4000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. A look at the light output reveals: The 2000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 389 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 259 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. This model dates back to 2008 and is no longer part of Acer's current product range.

The features of the projector do not match this description. The ECO mode cannot be activated or deactivated because it is not installed. Even acer cannot find this function! A W-Lan stick cannot be installed via the USB port as expected, although this is suggested. This function is definitely not available. Otherwise, the projector is a very good home projector. Brilliant for gaming or watching DVDs. Excellent for great soccer evenings. However, the VGA connection should be selected here. As there is no HDMI connection, you can get the maximum picture quality with this selection. However, the projector image is difficult to see in too much daylight. The device should therefore be used in rooms where it is possible to darken the installation site somewhat during the day.

Question
Hello,
I‘m about to buy a 300€ projector and I‘m deciding between the Optoma ES520 or the Acer1160Z. Question to the owners of this device:
How big will my projected image be at a distance of 4 meters from the wall?
Would be very happy about an answer.
Greetings
ramon

Me and my Acer X1160Z
Me and my home cinema, consisting of Acer X1160Z (Z is the optical zoom)
Definitely helps with the adjustment, for optimal utilization of the screen, a Celexon 2m*2m with gain factor 1.2 and black border
The small price difference of 20-30€ to the little brother without Z should definitely be accepted with bordered screens.
I use it mainly for:
- Watching DVDs
- Playing Xbox 360 (720p via VGA connection)
- PC was already connected
- DVBT is still to be connected.
I think the little box is simply flawless
Downer: Supports 720p, but doesn‘t come with an HDMI interface
Who should ask themselves why only 95 points?
Quite simply...where else would the possibility of an increase be? There are increases, but not in this price range.
Questions about activating the Ecomode?!? see posts from the X1160
I didn‘t find the Ecomode either, but:
1. on the one hand you can set this manually in the menu User-defined mode. Save and be happy with the self-made Ecomode
2. on the other hand, the bulb, lamp or whatever, is available via price comparison search engines for around 160€ Now I look at my user behavior and realize that I can get by with a bulb for almost if not more than 2 years. At least with a lamp life of around 4000 hours, divided by 2, that‘s 2000 hours a year, which is an estimated 5 hours a day. Hello?!?...who has so much boredom, or so much time?
Conclusion:
If you want to buy a cheap home theater, this device is a great choice. I‘ve been beaming onto a white woodchip wallpaper for 2 days and I can‘t see any difference to the screen. The question arises...screen crap or projector super? In any case, it looks more professional ;o)
