Acer XD1150/D Ratings

5 Stars Acer XD1150
A really good projector for all applications! My first lamp lasted 5907 hours, even though the projector was not operated in eco mode! The replacement lamp cost about 109,- €, I bought 2 at once. I connected it to my living room PC at the VGA input, did not set any other picture mode (sRGB - standard) and also did not change the contrast or brightness. These values remained at the factory setting! I am really thrilled! I use it for at least 3 hours a day! AND I already wanted to buy a new TV (HD Ready/1080p). WHY? If you have a digital TV card in your PC or are running a Blue-Ray, the picture looks great despite the native resolution of 800 x 600.

2.5 Stars Looking for a good projector
Hello everyone,

I‘ve been thinking about buying a projector for a long time. I was about to buy one on ebay Performens C1500 HDTV for 300 €. What struck me as strange is that the description says HDTV resolution 1920x1080 compressed? Is that really HDTV or is it just Chinese junk? I don‘t know much about projectors, but I‘m looking for a good projector for TV, PS3, X-box etc., what is important is 16:9 and 4:3. Who of you knows a projector that is well suited, from 300 to 500 euros.

Ach ja was hältn ihr von den Acer mit colorBoost mit LDP Technik auflösung 1024x720?

2 Stars Black image only
If only the black image is visible, the signal input is not yet correct. You can use Source or Resync to make it search for signals (the different connections are shown one after the other) but nothing happens.
If you see the lock logo next to an input, it means that only this source is currently being accepted. You should be able to change this using the lower buttons on the remote control. So move the lock next to the symbol with which you have plugged in the projector. Now it can find the signal, provided, of course, that you have switched on your second monitor output if you are controlling from the computer. This can be done by pressing Fn and one of the F keys, usually F% or F7 (note the blue symbols on the keyboard). You are correct if your screen goes black when you press it several times (always wait 2 seconds), then it has switched completely to the second monitor output. Press again to get the picture back on the computer
Or also Control Panel > Display.

3.5 Stars HELP
Hey guys,
I wanted to use my projector but suddenly it shows me a lock in the bottom right corner and I can‘t get into the menu anymore Can anyone tell me what‘s going on? I haven‘t activated any password protection or anything like that. The last time I used it, I just turned it off normally
Thanks in advance for your answers.

1 Stars Acer XD 1150 always has picture problems after 2 hours of use under the ceiling
I received this projector new last Wednesday. I use it suspended upside down under the ceiling to watch DVDs and sometimes a soccer match. Right from the start there were picture disturbances after about 2 hours of operation, i.e. black bars at the top, picture shifted, etc. Does anyone have similar experiences (operation upside down on the ceiling)?

5 Stars Arena/Premiere
I am also very happy with the Acer XD1150. I just don‘t know how to connect the projector to Arena/Premiere Reciver? I only get a B/W picture. What am I doing wrong? Which connection (S-Video, Scart, VGA, Composite) would be correct?
Thank you in advance. Quay

4.8 Stars Sharp picture?and more...
I‘ve been using the projector for about 2 weeks now. My expectations were not high, but they have been totally exceeded. I‘ve been using a 52 inch 16 to 9 tube rear pro in the living room and am very happy with the picture, so I bought the Acer just for fun. The picture can largely keep up with the rear pro, but with a high-quality screen measuring approx. 220 inches wide, it‘s an impressive fun factor. The picture is really good once the individual picture settings have been made. The picture is fed in via a VGA-Scart cable (self-made). The rainbow effect is sporadically visible (I, my wife and a friend don‘t see any of it, despite massive hints and descriptions of it). When the signal is fed in via digital satellite and at a low data rate, I can see the obvious picture degradation enhancers at work in the form of slight to strong trailing. If the picture feed is of a higher quality (DVD with good picture quality), this almost completely disappears. Considering the purchase price (I bought it new for 300 euros), I can still recommend the device.

5 Stars Sharp picture?
I have a question for those who already have the projector at home:
Despite the 800 x 600 pixels, do you have a good sharp picture? even with larger picture widths?
Thanks in advance for the answers

Probably the cause of your problem is the password protection of the projector (should actually be described in the manual)! Unfortunately I don‘t know how to fix the problem as I have a different projector.

Regarding Uwe‘s comment

The supposed trailing can be caused by a heavily textured woodchip wallpaper. I also had this perception and then projected once onto a smooth surface. All problems were eliminated. I recommend a smooth projection surface. This may well be a flat wooden panel that is painted a light matt white

3.8 Stars My experience with the XD1150
Hello everyone,

I‘ve just bought an Acer XD 1150 because I had a good feeling about it based on the good reviews.

Now, I have to say that this projector really has a bright, clear picture, even in daylight.

One thing, however, I find very annoying. When you watch a video or DVD, or moving pictures in general, you get the impression that the picture lags or blurs. I didn‘t have a DLP projector before, so maybe it‘s the rainbow effect? The device is great for still images and presentations. Everything is crystal clear and razor sharp. However, I wouldn‘t recommend this projector for home cinema and am considering whether to buy the XD 1250 or XD1270. Does anyone have any experience with it and does this blurring also occur there?

5 Stars Acer XD 1150
In addition to my previous presentation, I would also like to report:
I don‘t use a special screen, just a matt white painted woodchip wallpaper. In a subjective comparison, the picture in a slightly darkened room is just as bright as on my Saba TV with an 84 cm screen diagonal. However, the picture diagonal I set is 2.98 m = 117 inches in the same lighting conditions compared to 84 cm = 33 inches. My lamp is specified with 2000 hours. That‘s a long time. By the time it is defective, there will certainly be cheaper solutions than 239 euros for a new lamp. I would also like to point out that you don‘t have to watch every movie with the projector. In my opinion, you can watch the normal program on the TV and use the projector for special programs. This saves the lamp.

5 Stars Acer XD 1150 or DIY projector?
Have already tried out a lot of DIY projectors, even with the best panels in conjunction with OHP with 575 watt metal vapor lamps. The Acer XD 1150 beats everything I‘ve tried so far as a DIY projector freak.
Although it‘s my first purchased projector, I can only say: Absolutely super!
The brightness is fantastic compared to my previous projects, the resolution is great.
Use the Acer XD 1150 in conjunction with a DVT receiver. All I can say is: buy the Acer XD 1150, you won‘t regret it.

5 Stars My reason for the XD 1150
First of all, this euphoric review, even though I haven‘t even unpacked it yet. But I can‘t send this answer without a rating. If necessary, I will correct my rating so that together with the correction rating the right thing comes out.

3.8 Stars compared to the XD 1250??
I‘m thinking of buying the slightly bigger brother (XD 1250). Comparing the technical data, I think that as a layman I have come across a device with an excellent price-performance ratio. The contrast and brightness values seem to be right, and the resolution of 1024 x 768 also seems to be quite decent for the price. The price difference to the XD 1150 is marginal, but judging by the lack of forum posts, nobody seems to be interested in the slightly better equipped device. On the other hand, there are several posts about the XD 1150, all of them consistently positive. What‘s more, the projector has been ranked number 1 in its category, while the 1250 is only ranked 6th
Can someone explain to me why no one here is commenting on the 1250? After all, the device has been on the market for a year and its little brother seems to be quite popular... Is there a good reason for choosing the 1150 over the 1250? I intend to use the device for all-round use, i.e. TV, DVD, games, occasional surfing.

I would be very pleased to receive an answer or two

Greetings, Jan

4.8 Stars Unbeatable
I bought the Acer XD1150 a few days ago. Can only recommend the projector, no noticeable rainbow effect. Projected at a distance of approx. 3 meters onto the wall with a diagonal of 2 meters. Great for games, DVD, TC. I mostly use it as a TV via a TV card in my PC or simply as a monitor replacement. And for all those who complain about the ONLY 2000 hours, because the projector has no eco mode (as is actually stated, therefore a few points deducted): The lamp costs approx. 200;- that would be approx. 0.10 Euro per operating hour !!! And the projector is definitely worth it. So get the thing and have fun with it

4.5 Stars Really great at this price!
At a price of €379, I just had to go for it and fulfill my dream of a projector. :) So I mainly use it to watch football on Premiere. With a screen diagonal of 2m and a distance of about 3m from the wall, you really get a top-quality picture. You cant get much better results with more expensive beamers either, since the Premiere quality is admittedly not the best (unless they broadcast in HD). I transmit the image via Chinch, which affects the quality a little bit because video is the worst possible signal and with a cable length of 15m you can reach the limits of what is technically possible. But even with such a long cable (it should definitely be shielded!), You get a nice picture. I only tried DVDs via the VGA connection on a laptop and I have to say that the picture is also very nice to look at. Regarding the rainbow effect: At the beginning, it seemed quite strong to me (during football), but after I adjusted the receiver and the projector from the aspect ratio to 16:9, I have absolutely no more problems. I only notice the RBE very, very rarely, and only when there are very strong contrasts, such as B/W. Regarding the fan noise: absolutely quiet! So if you dont mind the background noise of your computer, you wont even notice the projector. You can only hear it when its really quiet, but who has quiet conditions when watching a projector? It only gets loud when it cools down after switching off, but then it really kicks in! All in all, this projector is a top entry-level device. You can still see quite well even during the day, so if you want to watch the Bundesliga at 3:30 p.m. without completely darkening the room, you will enjoy this projector. The disadvantage of this is, of course, that the bulb shines very brightly in absolute darkness and thus virtually interferes with itself because the image can become very bright. However, this problem can also be solved by various preset and self-definable image profiles. So I give it an absolute buy recommendation. If youre still skeptical about the RBE in DLPs, I can only say: If you dont look for it, you wont notice it. Its the same as with pixelfehler on a monitor :). I favor DLP because Im much more bothered by the smearing and coarse pixel grid of LCDs than by the RBE. If you dont expect too much from a projector and just want to enjoy a big picture, you should take a look at this projector, because at is really unbeatable at this price.

You also have to consider that 800x600, for example, is very close to normal TV resolution, which is 720 x 576 for PAL (480i). So even a 1024x768 projector doesnt give you a better picture (except for HDTV, and where can you get that on TV?).
So now I come to the conclusion. I have to watch Champions League on a projector in a minute :D

4.5 Stars Get it for this price!
Hello!

Have had this projector for a while. but then stood around forever -.-. Because I didn‘t really have a screen! Now, a good 3 weeks ago, I bought a 2m x 2m screen!

The projector is connected to the DVD/HDD/recorder including SatReceiver via SVideo. And on the ChinchVideo runs the WII and the 2e Sat Receiver :).
Also in the evening e.g. Stargate, or to see a movie is already top :) ^^. Or watching a DVD with the projector. You hear almost nothing of the volume and don‘t notice it at all! I can‘t notice any rainbow effect even with fast picture changes etc...

As I said, for this price the projector is TOP ^^ and can be used for home cinema. Unless you want HDTV etc....

Also my rating 90 points :). And that‘s only because of the missing DVI I have :) otherwise BUY ^^

3.5 Stars big cinema for a small price
...as a beginner i can‘t really compare, but in absolute terms i‘m satisfied with the projector. i use it with a cheap screen for dvd and gameconsole Wii...it‘s all great fun. the room has to be darkened though. noises from the fan, zero problem. easy to use, child‘s play. setting it up correctly is obviously not so easy in general. unless you want to mount the thing firmly on the ceiling, there are solutions for putting it on the shelf. important! there is another version that is not presented here, without /D...that‘s the one I have. this version then has no DVI connection!!! have fun!
