The projector PD116 by Acer utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 at a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2000 hours before a replacement is necessary. Regarding projection size, the value of 1800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 369 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 246 cm. Since entering the market in 2004, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

We bought our device at the end of 2005, and our lamp is also getting quite dark. (Can the operating hours be read off somewhere?) At that time we had a lamp with 1200 ANSI lumens, now we are talking about 1800. Can I simply replace it with a more powerful one?
Greetings.

Beamer!
Hello! I also have the same beamer and I have a problem. The projector switches off after a while (approx. 15mins). What can I do about it?

Life of the lamp
I use the same projector and am very satisfied. The light intensity is good and sufficient. The 1300 operating hours appear to be normal. With our projector we had the effect that the lamp became weaker and weaker after approx. 1000 hours. This means that the lamp is probably worn out, i.e. the bulb is probably losing its luminosity in this model

Question
I‘m quite happy with my Acer PD 116 projector, it‘s great to use, but I‘ve noticed that it‘s quite dark compared to other projectors. I bought the projector second-hand, so I can‘t say whether the 1300 hours of use are correct or whether the previous owner set it to zero once and the lamp is now exhausted.
I don‘t know much about this, what happens when the lamp life is exhausted, does it simply go out or does it lose its luminosity over time?
