As a projector, the Acer P1285i combines DLP technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 3200 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 20000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 4000 hours before a replacement is necessary – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. Regarding projection size, the value of 3200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 493 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 329 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 30 decibels. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Acer.
