The hardware properties of the EB-980W manufactured by Epson include 3800 ANSI lumens, a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution and a contrast value of 15000:1. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 6000 hours for this projector's lamp – mathematically sufficient for 8.2 years based on two hours of use per day. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Regarding projection size, the value of 3800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 626 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 417 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
