The projector EMP S52 by Epson operates as a LCD device with 1800 ANSI lumens, a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution and a contrast of 400:1. According to Epson, the included lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. A look at the light output reveals: The 1800 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 369 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 246 cm. This model dates back to 2007 and is no longer part of Epson's current product range. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.

Price-performance ratio is good
I‘ve just bought the Epson Emp S 52 at auction - I‘m surprised at how much technology it offers and how well it reproduces and displays colors. I am very satisfied!

Super Beamer
Have had the projector for 2 weeks now and I have to say I‘m really very satisfied.
I‘ve already watched a couple of movies on the DVD player and it was a real movie experience.
I think the picture is very good, as is the quiet fan - you can hardly hear the fan.
Mounting the beamer is also no problem on the head.
What you also have to consider the lamp is not expensive, you get now already for 160 euros and I find that very cheap.
For the price I find the beamer 1 A !!!!

Really good for home cinema
Bought the projector second-hand with 1 1/2 years remaining warranty for approx. 200€ with ceiling mount and roller screen
Conclusion:
Picture resolution: The resolution of a digital receiver (not HDTV) and a normal DVD player is 720×576. The projector has 800x600 so more than enough. However, if you have an X-Box, PS3, HDTV receiver or BluRay player, you should buy a projector with a higher resolution.
Picture quality: thanks to LCD technology no rainbow effect (you can see this especially in cartoons), good contrast, you really can‘t complain.
Fan noise: First home cinema evening was disappointing as the device was quite loud.
ABER: It was my mistake as the "altitude mode" (over 1500 meters) was activated. If you deactivate it, it is really "quiet" and you only hear it when there is no sound coming from the speakers.
Processing: relatively large projector.
Taste is debatable, I prefer a good picture to a nice case.
Plus point is the "sliding door" for the lens.
Overall conclusion: For non-HDTV viewers like me, it‘s perfectly adequate. Outstanding price/performance.
