With the EB 580S, Epson offers a LCD projector that features 3200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1000:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. According to Epson, the included lamp lasts up to 4000 hours. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. With its short projection distance, the short-throw model excels in smaller rooms, requiring only 62 cm of wall distance for an image width of 2 meters. A look at the light output reveals: The 3200 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 493 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 329 cm. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. Since entering the market in 2016, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
