As a projector, the Epson EB-PQ2220B combines LCD technology with a resolution of UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160, and is additionally specified with 20000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 3000:1. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Projector Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 20000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1437 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 958 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K are supported. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable.
