Known as the EH TW3800, this Laser-LCD projector by Epson features basic specs of 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 20000:1 at a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 4000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector. The achievable distances are shown in the Lens Shift Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 2000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 303 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 22 decibels. The projector was released in 2008 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
