Model Overview

The projector VPL FX37 by Sony utilizes LCD technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 6000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 at a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2500 hours.
For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction, granting significant leeway during mounting. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projection Calculator.
Looking at practical performance, up to 675 cm can be illuminated with 6000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 450 cm.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket.
The projector was released in 2012 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
