Known as the VPL FE110, this Laser-LCD projector by Sony features basic specs of 4000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 700:1 at a SXGA 1280 x 1024 resolution. According to Sony, the included lamp lasts up to 2000 hours. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for purely optical image shifting. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Lens Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 4000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 535 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 357 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2001 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
