Equipped with LCD technology, the Sony VPL-FW65 offers 6300 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. According to Sony, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. For maximum setup flexibility, the model supports optional interchangeable lenses, meaning the optics can be precisely matched to individual on-site requirements. Suitable distances can be determined using the Projection Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 6300 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 806 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 537 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 28 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
