The VPL FE40 model is a Laser-LCD projector from Sony, intended for Stationary applications, offering 4000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 700:1 at SXGA+ 1400 x 1050. According to Sony, the included lamp lasts up to 2500 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment without distortion. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Projector Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. A look at the light output reveals: The 4000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 551 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 367 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
