A projector from Sony is the VPL CW256, whose LCD model delivers 4500 ANSI lumens, a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800 and a contrast of 3700:1. According to Sony, the included lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Distance Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 682 cm can be illuminated with 4500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 455 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2015, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
