The EK-850LU is a Laser-LCD projector by Eiki, whose specifications list 8500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 100000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 937 cm can be illuminated with 8500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 625 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P and 4K. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. Regarding professional networking, the device offers a classic RJ45 LAN port for control alongside HDBaseT for the lossless transmission of picture and sound over long distances. The projector was released in 2020 and is officially no longer distributed by Eiki.
