The projector LS550W by Viewsonic utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1250 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 3000000:1 at a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800. Viewsonic lists a runtime of 30000 hours for the LED in this projector. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 20.5 years. To ensure a rectangular image even with asymmetrical placement, the projector includes digital keystone correction for both the horizontal and vertical axes. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 98 cm. To ensure objective comparability, an approximate ANSI lumen value was calculated based on the LED lumen values. Regarding projection size, the value of 1250 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 359 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 239 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 30 decibels. This model dates back to 2022 and is no longer part of Viewsonic's current product range. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
