Categorized in the High-End Homecinema segment, the DLA HD1 / RS1U / projector from JVC projects with a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution, alongside 700 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 15000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. This model is available with either a black or white housing. In terms of image alignment, the model offers an optical lens shift function, allowing the image to be shifted without quality loss. The exact adjustment leeway can be calculated in the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 269 cm can be illuminated with 700 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 179 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 25 decibels. Since entering the market in 2007, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
Well, Im no expert and no specialist, but I have 15 years of experience with projectors.
What this projector does here is, in my opinion, the best that can be bought at the moment. There are some 3-chip DLPs that can keep up with it, but they cost three times as much. In terms of contrast/black level, I havent seen a better one either. Unfortunately, its beyond my personal budget, so it will never decorate my living room.
One more tip: the Dreambee is even a bit better! Its even quieter and subjectively offers even more black and contrast. Unfortunately, it also costs significantly more.
I have also been able to see the HD 100, which offers even more contrast than the HD E1, but I did not see a big difference to the Dreambee.
The only point deduction for the HD 1...it is louder than the competition at 25DB!

Bye tube, it was a nice time with you
Hello,
so I was allowed to admire the first HD1 series projector in Europe in Aachen.
It has a black level comparable to a CRT and plenty of light.
In the opening scene of Star Wars 3, the jets chase over the star cruiser. The outer space is cloaked in deepest black and the star cruiser can be seen in low-level flight with all its details. Nothing is drowning as with some iris gurkins, which are currently trying to improve the black and limit the light path here. Deepest black and bright, glaring sunlight in one picture. Really awesome. And without any tricks.
With HD footage, the image was so vivid and showed full depth. The beaver has almost gnawed the center. :-) It was no longer film but rather a window to the Rocky Mountains.
The built-in Gennum also impressed with a simple 720p HDMI feed via a Denon DVD 1920. No double contours in Star Wars. Razor sharp and smooth. Phew, its hard to believe that an entry-level DVD could deliver a picture like that. Super image processing in the HD1!
Dont be fooled by the 700 lumens here. See and experience.
My tube will soon fall from the ceiling. Thats where an HD1 has to go.
The HD1 is the best in the home theater sector that Ive seen so far.

Ansi Lumen of the HD 1
Hello everyone,
the HD-1 is by no means a dark projector. The native contrast alone indicates that it can offer a lot without IRIS tricks.
We and the specialists from Grobi took a look at the device at its first presentation in Frankfurt. And on a 4 meter wide screen. And the device mastered it without any problems.
The projector delivers 700 Ansi at D65 and an incredible contrast. That‘s a top value in home cinema. According to our measurements, it even manages towards 900 Ansi. Only green is a bit off here. But I‘m sure we‘ll have much more to say about this in the near future. But it has a different meaning (at least in synergy with good contrasts, a good black level etc.) than with a presentation projector.
Perhaps this is why the Ansi Lumen ( or the general rating ) should be differentiated between the areas of application. Otherwise, the P database does a great job. ...we still have to plan our meeting with a beer.
Greetings Uli from Cine4home

The less brightness, the better the black level.
There is no projector that always gets 100 points.
A home theater projector that has a very good black level cant be very bright and doesnt have to be.
Compared to other high-end home theater projectors, the HD1 is just not the brightest.
In home theater, however, black level counts more than brightness.

Why so few points for ANSI?
Hi,
according to the test on cine4home it has 700 Ansilumen? Why do you need more for a home theater projector? And the projector achieves the 15000:1 contrast at 700 ANSI and that without any iris, as native. All other projectors achieve a maximum of 3000:1 and the Ruby possibly 5000:1 - everything else is just values with more or less good iris processes.
So please answer briefly why you only awarded 5 points for Ansi Lumen. And please don‘t tell me that others (presentation projectors) have 5000 Ansi Lumen
