Brief Introduction
Beta 2.5
A brief introduction to the DLA X30 B/W: The JVC 3D DILA projector offers 1300 Ansi lumens, a contrast of 50000:1 and a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution. Including a lens shift function, which provides freedom during installation. The projector can illuminate a picture width of up to 366 cm thanks to the 1300 Ansi lumens. In room lighting, however, the picture width should ideally be less than 244 cm. Furthermore, the projector can play 1080P and 4K as well as 3D without any problems, and therefore all currently available Blu-ray formats can be recognized by the projector. The operating noise of just 20 decibels makes the projection quiet. It was launched in 2011 and is no longer offered by the manufacturer JVC, but is still a popular projector in our database.

JVC DLA X30 B/W Ratings

5 Stars Boys
I only had the X30 for a year and then switched to the X35. This series was simply awesome! And mine is still running, especially at weekends - with the first lamp! Bought 03.2013 for 2046.-- at Digitec...

5 Stars Super
My JVC is now 8 years old and has its 2nd lamp. The picture is still great and I hope for another 8 years :-)

5 Stars Very good
I‘ve had the device for almost 8 years now and I‘m still delighted with it. Super picture quality in 2D and the fan is barely audible.

5 Stars Super
I‘ve had the projector for 5.5 years and it now has 1950 hours on the clock. Even after this time, I‘m still super satisfied. 2D is great, 3D can be improved. As far as the ghousting is concerned, you should let the projector warm up for 30 minutes before watching a 3D movie. If the panels are cold, the ghousting is much more pronounced. It looks much better after half an hour. I had the projector color calibrated by Heimkino Klohs in Leipzig and had the choice of having it set to maximum light output for 3D (which means a green cast) or balanced, which is somewhat at the expense of light output.

5 Stars Sorry!
Guys, Im sorry! I have problems, by the way, and thats why I regularly left bad reviews about the X30 here in the past. No offense meant. Sorry also for the constant advertising for the VW 95 and for my language and the trolling. Im sorry...

4.5 Stars gut
I‘ve had the Pr. for a while now and couldn‘t find anything wrong with it. (Read about it at Cine4home)The time from 0 to 1 for D-ILA projectors is 16.7ms and less (depending on the model). This avoids disturbing trailing effects even at higher frequencies.

4 Stars Satisfied
I‘ve had the Pj. for about a year. I would have liked a more extensive color management. But the CMD can also be set via the hidden system menu. 2D has become super, also bright enough at min. zoom and the largest image (12Fl at normal lamp power). 3D is good but could still be improved. Certainly won‘t be my last Pj.

4.5 Stars Completely satisfied
I‘ve had the X30 for a good year now and don‘t know what some people are complaining about here (although it‘s only one). If you watch a lot of 3D you should probably go for a Sony, unfortunately the JVC tends to ghost a lot, but that also depends on the material. 3D for home cinema is also still not fully developed, there will certainly be better devices in the near future. No jerking or lagging (as long as you don‘t run the FI at the highest level, but that is also known)

I don‘t regret my purchase so far.

4.5 Stars Eyes open
I‘ve had it for over a year now - and honestly - what‘s all the nagging about! Sometimes I think people don‘t even own the projector and haven‘t been able to evaluate it in a calibrated state in a proper specialist store for a longer period of time with a proper player or film material.
Whoever is still missing something is - I think - not interested in a very good movie experience. These people have other problems.

1 Stars totale endtäuschung!!!!!!!!
the jvc x 30 and not only this model from jvc is a total disappointment, had the hd 1 myself once,,
the very poor motion sharpness of the jvc ruined all my movies,,,they can‘t do that yet,,not even in the 10.000 euro class,,they should ban every jvc from the market,,,now i have a sony hw 50,,,sharper, brighter and no more lagging in moving pictures,,,,
jvc is a joke to the power of 10,,,,,,,

5 Stars best 2D/3D projector up to 3000,-€
very sharp picture, finally flawless FI, large zoom and lens shift range and also motorized, high contrast is achieved phne dynamic iris - here JVC is unbeatable, top black level, with 3D slight flickering and ghousting depending on the film material, but that‘s why I don‘t have a DLP with all its disadvantages in the house. All in all, the best you can get for €3000. Full 5 stars from me

5 Stars Grinsel
Very good 2D projector. Unbeatable in this price range. It jerks a little in 3D mode, but I only noticed this in direct comparison with the Sony VW 95. So complaining at a high level.

5 Stars Price / performance winner in the 3000,-€ class
best 2D picture in the 3000,-€ price range, good flawless FI, large zoom and lens shift, lens memory, quiet, no dynamic iris, high native contrast, very good black level, in terms of 3D slight flickering similar to 50Hz flickering of a tube TV, ghousting varies depending on the film material from almost not at all to visible. All in all, the best overall package you can buy for this money.

3.5 Stars Good 2D projector
In 2D a stunner. Unfortunately a big disappointment in 3D. Flickering and ghosting are unbearable for me, especially if you have seen the competition‘s devices in comparison.

The JVC is certainly recommended for pure 2D operation. However, you have to ask yourself the price-performance question, as pure 2D devices with the same performance are also cheaper. Or pure 2D devices in the same price range are somewhat better.

5 Stars Very satisfied!
What the projector has for a performance is already completely sufficient. I can‘t imagine it being much better. I haven‘t tried 3D yet... I don‘t really need it.

5 Stars Very good overall package
Mr. Weber,
I agree with you, because the Sony is absolutely top class; I‘ve also had the pleasure of seeing it in comparison with other devices, but the Sony VW 95 costs almost twice as much, so you shouldn‘t forget that. Considering the price of just under 3000 euros, I would classify the picture of the JVC as very good in the 2D range and very good - good in the 3D range. I will probably get the JVC, as I think the competitors in this price range don‘t offer such a good overall package in the 2D and 3D range (after extensive direct comparison of the devices in this price range).

5 Stars Bullshit!!!
So if you have to downgrade other projectors here to talk yourself out of your own bad purchase, then please do so! I have nothing against it, it‘s just a pity for the good projector! Besides, the Sony VW 95 costs almost twice as much, at that price you should be able to expect good aperture technology...I‘m talking about the 3000 euro price range here. Where do you calibrate the panels, anyone can claim that and you obviously know much less about projectors than I do, since you don‘t know the disadvantages of dynamic iris diaphragms (at least in this price range)...
Autor: 27.12.11
1 Stars Bullshit!
Where do they sell projectors? I would like to come to them.
You don‘t know anything about projectors!
Since when does an aperture create artifacts? It doesn‘t get any stupider than this! Anyone who has seen the VW 95 won‘t buy a JVC! I‘ve never heard such nonsense.
Autor: 25.12.11
5 Stars JVC: Absolute hammer!!!
Because certain people here, who obviously bought another product (Sony)? and therefore have to talk down other projectors that are dramatically better in 2D, which 99% of people still watch today (movie selection), unfortunately gives a slightly distorted picture of reality here on this site...I have been working in projector sales for several years (employed and not as a dealer) and know what I‘m talking about! It‘s best to go to a good dealer yourself and compare Sony and JVC, for example...I estimate that 80-90% of people will opt for the JVC (muddy 2D image from the Sony) and no good in-picture contrast from the Sony (even with aperture, without it‘s horrible anyway)...And apertures create artifacts...

5 Stars Wow
After 3 years of intensive use of the Panasonic AX100, I have now come to the JVC X30 after a long search and clarifications. After a provisional installation, I did my first picture tests - WOW. Colors, resolution and even 3D are impressive. Of course, the previous projector only had HD-Ready
The JVC makes a very good impression. Quiet, functional and makes a very good impression with its dimensions.

2 Stars Attention!
Please always compare the current devices yourself before buying! Unfortunately, there are always people who are dependent on the manufacturers or who are annoyed with themselves for buying this device! But its also possible to be encouraging to yourself!
I have been calibrating displays for 6 years and I know what Im talking about! (Forums are also often helpful for making a decision)
If JVC increases the response times and control of the panels and finally uses a functioning filter, it could become a useful and good projector in the future.

5 Stars Realistic assessment!!!
Also, I have the projector running with comparable equipment and have absolutely no comparable effects, perhaps a configuration problem or other hardware problem in your case? I have been running home cinemas with 8 different projectors for over 15 years and I have to honestly say that the JVC X30 is by far the best in the "affordable" projector range up to 4000 or even just under 5000 euros. Only the VW 95 from Sony can marginally stand out here in the 2d range as well as in 3d (at almost twice the price)...Greetings N.Wörrlein

5 Stars You should take more time!
I bought the x30 after long comparisons. There were 3 projectors in the near selection. Sony hw30, Epson 9000 and the JVC. Luckily I had a very knowledgeable salesman. The Epson was quickly ruled out for me as it was too loud. I had to choose between the Sony and the JVC. Both are great projectors and have a great picture. In my opinion, however, the JVC‘s picture was more vivid, brighter and more intense. I can confirm that the JVC had a jerky picture in the standard setting. However, this was COMPLETELY eliminated with the right settings and the options for adjusting the JVC are very varied. There is no 3D problem in my eyes. However, you should also use all the functions.

2 Stars Real assessment!
The best test sequence is the 3D Blu-ray: IMAX
3D "Wild Ozean" - opening credits from Nokia and other scenes in the movie. (Women with wood, street lamp in the background, etc.) If you can‘t see that, you have a vision problem. You can also talk yourself into it. I use a Denon as a player. The picture is almost flawless on other current 3D projectors! Only the X30 has a real 3D problem! But if you can‘t hear...! For 2D it is definitely recommended. But I don‘t have to spend 3000 euros for that. And: compare motion sharpness in 3D with the Sony 30 or 95 or Mitsubishi HC7800! This is motion sharpness!!!!
Autor: 19.12.11
5 Stars Typical JVC, simply brilliant...
What this projector can achieve in terms of picture is really exceptional in this price range (2999 Euro list). Until a few weeks ago, you had to spend over 4000 or rather 5000 euros, as it has also improved significantly compared to its predecessor (much brighter in 3d). Contrast and black levels as well as the picture homogeneity are beyond any doubt anyway... Sharpness of movement is brilliant!...I think the previous speaker who said otherwise has a vision problem ;-)
Autor: 19.12.11
5 Stars Toll
I can‘t say anything about 3D as only the normal picture counts for me. However, in comparison with 2 projectors (Sony and Epson), this is clearly the better one.
Autor: 16.12.11
2 Stars Beaten with blindness?
I guess you haven‘t seen a comparison here! There is no improvement on the X3 in terms of motion blur, lack of FI in 3D and ghosting. The device remains a disaster! There are several devices that can already do 3D better. Nix best home theater projector. Terrifying results!
Autor: 16.12.11
5 Stars Home Cinema Winner
One of the best home cinema projectors for the price.
Autor: 15.12.11
5 Stars 2D is simply awesome!
All the new projectors I have compared are inferior to the JVC in 2D mode. No matter if Sony, Pana or EPSON. In 3D mode it also performs very well, although its competitors can do so impressively as well. But you will probably watch 2D much more often.
Autor: 15.12.11
5 Stars Great picture in 2D and 3D!!!
I wouldn‘t have thought that you could do so much better. In 2D it is the BEST BEAMER I have ever seen. The 3D picture is very rich in contrast with a great depth effect.
