A projector from Vivitek is the KU801Z, whose 3D-DLP model delivers 8000 ANSI lumens, a resolution of WUXGA 1920 x 1200 and a contrast of 3000000:1. With its built-in laser light source, the projector achieves a manufacturer-stated lifespan of 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Distance Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 8000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 800 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 533 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs.
