The CP AW3506 model is a 3D-LCD projector from Hitachi, intended for Short Distance applications, offering 3700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 16000:1 at WXGA 1280 x 800. According to Hitachi, the lamp has a durability of 4000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day. For basic image adjustment, the device is equipped with horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing digital compensation for trapezoidal distortion at angled projection setups. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 60 cm. A look at the light output reveals: The 3700 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 618 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 412 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2018 and is officially no longer distributed by Hitachi.
