Equipped with LCD technology, the Hitachi PJ TX100/W (UltraVision) offers 1200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1200:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2000 hours for this projector's lamp. In terms of image alignment, the model offers an optical lens shift function, allowing the image to be shifted without quality loss. The exact adjustment leeway can be calculated in the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 1200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 352 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 235 cm. With a value of only 28 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Hitachi. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.

Hello everyone, I bought the beamer second-hand at a very reasonable price. Now I would like to hang it on the ceiling. I already have a universal mount from Vogels. But I‘m not sure whether it makes sense. I‘ve read in forums that the device gets louder on the ceiling, and I haven‘t found any instructions on what you have to set on the device for overhead mounting.

Super, super, super
I‘ve been using the projector since 2006 (purchased for the World Cup), still with the first lamp (!) You just have to clean the device at the prescribed intervals, then it just goes on and on. I watch Blue-Ray, play XBOX and PS3 and it‘s just great, amazing picture, simply brilliant. The only mini drawback is the lack of an HDMI interface, but it does have component and DVI, and adapters aren‘t that expensive. I‘m thinking of buying another one as a replacement in case the "old" one does break down...

Top Beamer...also today
Hello,
Have had the beamer for 2 years and still love it. It is already very well color corrected ex works according to D65. You can adjust it even more perfectly manually, but Hitachi has thought this through. Where can you find lens shift, var. iris, wide-angle optics, HD 720p panel and 1080 compatibility? The ventilation grilles are in the right place and the projector is fun to use with PC, PS3 and BluRay. The lamp is cheap to get from China. My buddy came to me with an Acer HD projector for 499 euros.....my Hitachi could do more and better :-)

PJ-TX100
I haven‘t used the projector for a long time and have now noticed that a green, then a blue and a yellow stripe roll across the picture, alternating from top to bottom. Who can give me a tip as to whether this can be fixed or whether the LCD panel is finished. The device has few operating hours.

Good picture, poor durability
My PJ-TX100 showed a convincing picture. Dust was never a problem, but over time the (actually quiet) fan noise became louder. None of the lamps reached the promised service life of 2000 hours. After 900 and 1100 hours respectively, the lamps had to be replaced. Although the lamps are cheap (in comparison), they don‘t last as long. After approx. 2100 operating hours, a blue discoloration began on the right edge, which now extends over 50% of the picture and is becoming more intense. A repair request led to a cost estimate that exceeded the new price of the device at the time. Typical LCD weakness.

After about 4000 hours, it‘s ready for the scrap heap ...
We‘ve been using this projector in our home theater and as a TV replacement since 2004. The picture quality was very good at the beginning, but over time some dust problems occurred (spots in the picture), later shading was added to the left-hand side of the picture. Since the lamp was replaced this year, age-related discoloration of the panels can be seen, with a strong blue tint in the lower left area. It‘s a shame really, as the resolution, picture quality and noise of the device should easily have lasted another 3-4 years. Hopefully by then there will be LED projectors with DLP technology that no longer have LCD ageing problems and lamp fatigue. So I will soon have to bridge this time with an interim device.

Good buy !
I have recently bought this PJ-TX100 projector, (used 350,- Euro) and am very happy with it. :)
It delivers a crystal clear image when using a component cable connected to a dvd player.
Noise level is very tolerable as well.
This projector is a very good beginner home cinema projector, with awesome specs.
I REALLY RECOMMEND IT

Best price-performance ratio
This projector offers the best price-performance ratio in this class in terms of picture quality. The volume may be a little quieter with newer generations, but this one is already very quiet and not at all disturbing.
The deinterlacer is not so good, but this can be compensated for via progressive scan.
The lens shift works great and should not be missing in any projector.
Dimming is necessary, otherwise the black level will be lost anyway due to the residual light in the room.
