Behind the name XG MB70X is a DLP projector by Sharp, whose main features include 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 3000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 477 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 318 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. This model dates back to 2004 and is no longer part of Sharp's current product range.

Lamps are difficult or even impossible to get cheap, but otherwise a super part !
We‘ve had two of these boxes for a few years now.
On one of them, the lamp broke down at around 2200 hours,
on the other (but they were dusty used units for around 500 euros each). 500 euros)
the lamp died at 550 hours,
but I was lucky:
I bought new lamps for less than 100 euros each on ebay (only the lamp itself without housing and original): RLMPFA017WJ (275W SHP).
But is otherwise very pleasantly quiet in Eco mode (despite several fans or just
therefore) and still so bright that you can stare without the sun even during the day (without or with only a little darkening).
The pictures are super sharp.
With the iris diaphragm it gets a bit sharper,
but also a bit darker; that‘s why I don‘t use the diaphragm.
But then you almost have to look with a magnifying glass
to notice a difference. So I don‘t see anything or hardly anything at all.
I don‘t have HDMI or any of that junk yet, but it does have two VGA inputs, one SVGA and one analog input, which I think is pretty good.
An original DVD via whatever input on a 2.5m screen diagonal:
Excellent !!! - So I don‘t need HD, Blueray or similar. It would be nice if there were a few more pixels than 1024 because of the PC inputs, but it‘s certainly not necessary for a video image. So when the ambient temperature reaches 35-40°C, the fans
switch to full throttle at some point, even in eco mode.
I have to say, however, that I have also given the devices a few discreet
air filters (extremely thin and fine, a kind of extractor hood filter
glued in with very stale adhesive strips).
I can recommend these devices without further ado :-)
You can tell that they are of really good quality and that they
were very expensive when new.
