The projector PG M15X by Sharp utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1100 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 500:1 at a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 1500 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 289 cm can be illuminated with 1100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 193 cm. Since entering the market in 2001, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Hi Micha,
Is the projector still fully functional? Maybe you can write me at 10010 german gmx. I might be interested in it.

Answer to the last experience
HI :-)
I‘ve had the device for over 2 years now and it runs great.
Have now bought a Full HD beamer, however, so I‘m going to sell the good thing.
With a heavy heart, because you can really pack it in any bag.
LG. Micha

Criticism of the Sharp PG-M15X
After not even 500 operating hours (purchased in 2002), the lamp broke (defect June 2007). Cost 350 euros for self-installation. Shortly afterwards (6 months later) the power supply unit was suddenly defective. Costs 240 euros (had it done by a company; material price 15 euros, technician costs 215 euros. Pretty hefty to remove and reinstall a power supply unit).
Another 3 months later (March 2008), the ballast unit went flat. Repair costs 1,300 euros including material and technician (!!!). I almost laughed myself silly when I saw the cost estimate, but only paid the actual cost estimate of 50 euros.
I can throw the projector away
I bought the projector because of its compact size. Unfortunately, I fell flat on my face with this model, according to the motto: nothing for nothing. With 500 operating hours and a total cost of around 2,500 euros, you can work out how much the fun cost.
Similar models are now available for around 600 euros.
However, I‘ll wait until the devices are available for 300 and would rather go for a walk in the woods than watch videos.

Question about the connection to the PS3
I can‘t get a biolink or signal from the PS3 to my projector
does anyone have a solution for me or is the HDCP hitting me hard and there‘s nothing I can do about it?
